Distinguished and Famous people from Gosford

📚 Henry Kendall

Poet Henry Kendall lived at the Fagan family’s cottage near Gosford in 1873–74. The family offered friendship and support during a difficult period in his life, giving the district a personal connection with a major nineteenth-century Australian writer. The cottage now bearing his name was built before his stay, and its story includes the Fagan household as well as its famous guest. Preserving both parts of that history keeps the building from becoming simply a celebrity address: it was a family home that provided a poet with much-needed assistance.
